Vacuum pump RL from REFCO - evacuation made easy - everything you need to know

The purchase of a REFCO RL vacuum pump is an investment for life, provided it is regularly inspected

High-quality components and sophisticated technology maintain the high performance of the two-stage rotary vane vacuum pump even under maximum load, so that the desired deep vacuum is achieved more quickly.

The two-stage RL vacuum pumps are characterised by the following features:

  • Low weight and highest quality thanks to the use of high-quality materials
  • Gas ballast valve
  • Internal oil circulation for optimum lubrication
  • Easy to read the optimum oil level (sight glass in the middle)
  • Large oil filler neck for easy and clean oil filling
  • Special filter reduces oil mist at the blow-out nozzle
  • Sturdy and ergonomic handle
  • Integrated on/off switch to prevent damage and unintentional operation
  • Various spare parts available

Possibility to overhaul your vacuum pump

Send us your used vacuum pump: We will overhaul it at a flat rate. This turns your vacuum pump purchase into a long-term investment in a quality tool.

Evacuation procedure

Functioning tools are the be-all and end-all. This also applies to the vacuum pump. The refrigeration technician ideally first checks the ultimate vacuum of his vacuum pump if he has not used it for some time. Nothing is more annoying than a tool that does not work. Even more so if this is only noticed at the end.

The refrigeration technician connects his vacuum gauge to the vacuum pump connection for the test. He draws vacuum at full power. After a few seconds there is already a fine vacuum in the small volume, and after a maximum of one minute 50 microns should be reached. If this is the case, the vacuum pump is working. If not, a change of the vacuum pump oil or even maintenance is necessary.

In the next step, the system can be completely evacuated. To do this, the refrigeration technician connects the vacuum pump to the system connection. This is done with the help of a hose, which is attached to the low-pressure side in front of the compressor.

The vacuum gauge must be mounted at another port, as far away from the vacuum pump as possible. This is because the molecules that are far away from the vacuum pump pass through numerous bottlenecks - this takes time. Therefore, deep vacuum at the connection point at the vacuum pump does not necessarily mean that there is also already deep vacuum at the distant points.

Finally, it is recommended to break the system with nitrogen, close it cleanly and attach the manifold with refrigerant cylinder for filling. The refrigeration technician evacuates the newly suspended equipment and hoses before starting to fill.
